When designing anything for your business, there is a process. Graphic design is a series of processes that begins with an idea and ends with the finished product, whether it be a logo, a magazine, a business card or anything else. Below is an illustration of the process.
1. FREE Consultation:
You have an idea. That idea needs to be fleshed out, understood and eventually created. This is your opportunity through email, phone or in-person, to discuss your concept. We will always listen to your vision. After all, this is your idea and a graphic designer is a person or company who can help bring it to life. This is always a collaborative effort. A good graphic designer will listen to your vision and add his or her ideas in how to bring it to life. Don't have a clear vision? That's okay too. A good designer will begin to isolate and help with ideas that can work.
2. Acceptance of terms:
After the consultation, we will prepare a definitive quote for you. This is an important step. Simple jobs are easy to quote when we are together, but some require more complexity. Taking in the scope of the job, we will get you a quote within 24 hours of meeting. The quote will lay out a timeline, the pricing and the agreement. If all looks good at that point, we can get started!
3. Getting started:
After we've agreed to the terms, it's time to get started. This will take some effort on the client's part. Dependent on the project, we will need to gather information. If you are building a brochure, for instance, then we will need company photos, text, your high resolution logo to get started. If it is sent to us in a zip file, we can download all the information and get started!
4. First Proof:
There are always a set of proofs you will see before the project is completed. If all the information for your project is received, design is typically began and a first proof is sent back to you with three days. We will never launch your project without your approval. The first proof is the time to look over the composition carefully, adjust any text, photos, and make the general design comments you'd like to alter. What if you don't like it? No problem! We'll get in touch and figure out what needs to be changed up.
5. Second Proof:
The second proof is all about making sure the changes were made properly and the project is ready for approval. Of course, sometimes you see things you may have missed on the first proof. Again, no problem! Our job is to get the project out just the way you'd like, so never feel bad about making changes.
6. Final Approval:
Once we have finalized, tweaked and created that piece you can be proud of, it is time to approve it. Once it is approved, then it's time to sed you your final files. This will include digital and, if necessary, print files. You will always retain he rights to your creation. If you need us to stay on through the print process, we will see it through to completion.
7. Payment
When the job is done and you ave your nice new shiny brochure, business cards, ad or publication, then it's time for payment. We can meet in person for this, but we also accept PayPal, Credit Cards, Check and good old fashioned cash. Our terms are on receipt.
8. Next Project?
Many of our clients are long-standing repeat customers who come back to us time and time again, mainly because of the quality, service and because Design This! Graphic Design feels like an extension of their company. And we feel that too. It's great to have wonderful customers who feel like they are an office away, even if they are the other side of the country!
